Inspiring Young Innovators at the Teen Science Café at Govans Elementary

Today, I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the LETS GO Boys and Girls Teen Science Café at Govans Elementary. Walking into the room, I was immediately struck by the energy and curiosity buzzing among the students.

Some were carefully fine-tuning robots they had built with their own hands, testing movements, and troubleshooting code. Others were deep into CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software, creating digital blueprints for their next big idea. Everywhere you looked, you could see creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in action.

Programs like this are more than just after-school activities—they’re pathways to opportunity, helping young minds see themselves as engineers, designers, and future leaders. And seeing their excitement reminded me just how bright the future can be when we invest in youth and give them access to meaningful STEM learning experiences.
